Ruth-Anne Richardson

Ruth-Anne Richardson is a practising Ghanaian architect, writer and principal of StudioRED in Accra. She is a member of the African Futures Institute (AFI) research team, appointed in 2022 as AFI Research Team Lead. She was an invited speaker at the 3rd Ghana Green Building Summit in July 2020 and co-hosted the 3rd Africa Green Building Summit in the same year.  

 

She actively undertakes rural-urban research projects that engage students of architecture and planning and volunteered time at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021 to collaboratively design and supervise Ghana's first EDGE-certified, 100-bed Infectious Diseases Centre in Accra. She is a proponent for the local restructuring of architectural pedagogy towards a focus on creative agency, reimagined design frameworks and sustainable building technologies for Ghana.
